We came back from Disney 2 weeks ago today and it has taken me this long to decide what it was about Disneyland Paris that I wanted to blog about. I wanted to write something but after spending an hour typing up a blow by blow account/review I didn't want to publish it, it didn't seem right as the whole 4 days were so magical and I wanted to keep some things just for us.
So I decided on some top tips. Now they are top tips from our holiday and I would expect (and hope) a few of them won't actually happen to you but you never know.
So here goes, my top 10 tips on visiting Disneyland Paris:
1. Don't use your first night away as the first night that your child will sleep in a bed - you will be tired the next day, guaranteed, and you will have to wake that said child up for the early morning start.
6am on the day of travel after finally falling asleep at 10pm the previous night |
2. There will be so much to photograph and so many moments to capture but put the camera down and soak up the atmosphere. Experience it with your children and don't let the camera overtake you making memories for yourself.
3. Don't utter the words 'he hasn't had a poo today' before bath time on your first night because he will then poo on the bath - another guarantee.
4. Watch the parade every night you are there. Yes it's the same but both you and the kids will get something different from each one. My husband may disagree with me but who cares what he thinks lol!
5. Have at least one hot chocolate because they are out of this world amazing.
6. Don't take your 4 year old on the Big Thunder Mountain ride, he won't like it and he will ask awkward questions like 'are we going to die?'. (We did after realise this was under big thrills so maybe wasn't the best ride for Finley)
Finley and my husband are the ones at the front |
7. Take a pushchair. Because whether or not you actually use it for its main purpose it will be invaluable for bags, snacks, coats and generally anything else that you can't be bothered to carry.
8. Have breakfast with Mickey Mouse and his Friends. It's a must!!
9. Don't worry about what calories you eat as you will walk about 20k a day.
10. Buy & wear the Mickey Mouse ears, your never too old.
I love this Hun!! Really made me smile and a good way to blog about it but not share too much!! You do walk miles eh? The poo thing is hilarious xx #binkylinky
ReplyDeleteLove this!!! Ahh poor Finley, I would probably ask the same thing, I am a wuss haha. It sounds like a great experience, I cannot wait to go at some point. #binkylinky
ReplyDeleteWe have just got back from Florida and I am still to write up my reviews of Disney, just so much to write about! I definitely agree about taking the buggy, we don't use it very often at home but it was a godsend for carrying our bags/hundred bottles of water/snacks/fan/etc etc! And the days were so long at the parks that my little man definitely needed a nap most days so it was ideal for that too x #binkylinky
ReplyDeleteFantastic tips what amazing place I have never been but would love to thanks for linking to the binkylinky
ReplyDeleteOMG poor Finley on that ride!! Haha! Your hubby looks like he enjoyed it though! I've been wanting to take the girls for ages, but they're only three and a half so I was thinking more around the age of six or seven as I'd want them to remember it. Great tips! Thanks for linking up to the #BinkyLinky
ReplyDeleteI shouldn't laugh but your son's face on that ride is hilarious. That should be a #silentsunday photo in its own right. Hopefully you haven't put him off them too much. Looks like you all had a great time. :-) #justanotherlinky
ReplyDeleteMy face looked the same on our Thunder Mountain Ride at Disney too! So funny ...! Some wonderful tips. Glad you had a great time #mummy&us
ReplyDeleteIt does look lots of fun, I've only been to the one in America and that was before I had kids of my own. Stopping by from #TAT
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear those tips particularly remembering to have fun and put the camera down. #mummyandus
ReplyDeleteooo great tips! breakfast with mickey looks fab Thanks for linking up to #sundaystars x
ReplyDeleteMust be a great hot chocolate, my 11 year old is already obsessed with France, if I tell her they have the worlds best hot chic she will drive me mad! Unfortunately Australia is a long way away, and we just don't have money yet.
ReplyDeleteBless Finley on the Big Thunder - we had the exact same thing with Gabby. She still remembers 5 years later...whoops! Great tips :) Thanks for linking up to #TheList xx
ReplyDeleteGreat tips Kirsty! I have never been on Disneyland Paris! It is definitely on my to do list of places to visit soon!! My 5 year old daughter is dying to go there but I was waiting for Sienna (1 yo) to be a little bit older! I guess next year will be better for us. I also think that bringing the pushchair is really helpful so you can put all your bags there. The breakfast time with Mickey Mouse sounds fantastic!! Thank you so much for joining me at #KCACOLS. I really appreciate your support lovely!! :-) xxx
