Me & Mine ~ April 2016

This has been a big month for us as a family as we finally moved house after months of waiting, and we couldn't be happier. Our new house has more room for them to run around in and they both have rooms as big as each other so they now have their own space to play with their own toys. I have been able to just pop to friends houses without having to get in the car and drive 20 minutes. The only obsticle we have found is with our move we didn't get into our first place school, which we expected, but we are appealing and fingers crossed it goes our way.

Amongst the packing and unpacking we have had lots of fun times so here is what made us happy this month.

Mummy is loving:
~ Moving house
~ Wine nights with girlfriend
~ Watching Mamma Mia at the theatre with my Mum & Nan
~ Running
~ Snapchat

Daddy is loving:
~ Moving house
~ A whole Daddy day with the boys
~ Being able to walk to play skittles rather than driving
~ Having artificial grass in our new garden
~ Taking the boys to the local bakery and sweet shop

Finley is loving:
~ His new bedroom
~ Being just down the road from his best friend
~ Going to the park nearly every day
~ The boys new trampoline
~ Sliding down the stairs in the tunnel

Noah is loving:
~ His new bedroom
~ Tennis practice
~ Play dates with his best friend
~  Going to all the parks around our new house
~ Getting to scoot places

What Made Me Happy This Week #8

We have had a pretty chilled one this week with a lot of time spent at home and with friends, I have also done a lot of things for me this week which has been lovely. The boys have been a lot more settled this week and we seem to be getting into a nice routine in the new house.

1. Watching Mamma Mia. On Saturday I had a child free day and spent the day with my Mum & Nan watching Mamma Mia at the theatre. I had such a lovely day and we even squeezed in lunch at a lovely pub on the way. The show was brilliant and I found myself singing the songs all the way home.

2. Cinema date. I went to the cinema and watched The Jungle Book with my oldest friend and it was lovely to have a catch up and eat sweets.

3. Meeting the animals. Our best friends invited us to a local garden centre on Sunday where they had a meet the animals event. The boys got to see rabbit, guinea pigs, a pony, birds and a lot more. After seeing the animals we had a stroll around the garden centre and the kids got to play on the park, it was lovely to spend time with them.

4. Shopping & lunch out. I can't remember the last time I went shopping for a lengthy period and not rush in and out of shops. Well on Monday I went shopping with my best friend and our littlests. We shopped for about 4 hours and had a lovely lunch, we had a good old shopping spree! It was so lovely and after, once we had picked Finley up from preschool, we had a little playdate while we drank tea and chilled after our busy day lol.

5. Girls night in. We had wine, pizza and cheese - perfect!

6. Playing in the garden. The weather has been seriously hit and miss but we have managed to get out in the garden, be it very cold though.

7. Running club. I joined my local running club and went to my first session on Wednesday. I loved it. It was lovely to meet other people with the same interest as me and also I was able to find out about some local 10k's and half marathons that they are doing.

8. More park dates. We have enjoyed more days at the park, it so lovely to just get out!

Finding The Balance

I've been a little bit quiet on social media and new blog posts recently that weren't scheduled before the move as everything seems to be none stop. And in all honestly I am just trying to find a balance between being mummy, house wife, working from home and blogging. The boys will always come first above everything else and that's what has happened. I've been taking time to settle them into our new house as well as a new routine.

It gets to the evening when I want to blog but my enthusiasm for it has just gone and I'm so tired that I am happy to just sit in front of the tv. New post ideas just aren't there even though so much has happened the past few weeks. I have been spending all our free time exploring parks and just having fun that once the boys are in bed I am pretty exhausted.

We didn't get our first place school last Monday so I am putting all my energy into finding out how and the best way to appeal now we are in the new house, a stones throw away from the school we didn't get offered.

It's a new house and we are playing catch up on chores and still finding the place for everything. We have a garage full that needs to be sorted but our spare time has been spent catching up with friend & family and having days out to either find house stuff or fun for the boys. But in my mind that garage can wait but the boys growing up won't.

The balance will come I am sure, but for the moment while I find it I'm going to have to put blogging in the background and just let it tick along before I dive into it again. So that is where I am and I hope to be back fully into blogging soon.

What Made Me Happy This Week #7

This week has been a strange week with the blog as I just haven't had the urge to write. Not sure why as we have had a lot going on but I just haven't been able to find the words or energy to write. So here is what made me happy this week as it has been a pretty happy week.

1. Our new dining table. We needed a new dining table as the one from our old house was just too large as we didn't use all 6 chairs. So rather than buy a brand new one, which wasn't in the budget after moving, we went to our local charity furniture shop and picked up a bargain round table. It fits in the room nicely and we are so happy with it.

2. A Sunday lie in. I was lucky enough on Sunday to get a lie in which was amazing, just what I needed. Mr C let me sleep in and the woke me with a cup of tea, definitely a keeper. Then the boys joined me which they found hilarious.

3. Getting out in the garden. The weather has been on the nice side this week, even if a little chilly so we managed to get out into our new garden. The boys have loved playing in their cosy coupes and have also enjoyed their new trampoline.

4. Park fun. We have managed to get to some different parks 3 days this week and it has been lovely. I have picked Finley up from preschool and as the weather was so nice we headed to the park and this has been something we have all loved. This has been one of the best things about our move, that we can do this without the worry of getting home in time for tea or if the boys will fall asleep in the car. This week has been all about the outdoors.

5. Tennis practice. After preschool on Tuesday I took the boys to a tennis practice with some friends. It wasn't full on practice as they are only 2 & 4 but they loved it and it is a lovely activity for them to do.

6. Friends. We have had lots of time with our friends this week and we are so lucky to have the incredible friends that we have in our lives. We have had lunch & play dates as well as evenings of drinks and catching up.

7. A girlie night out. It was one of my mummy friends birthdays on Wednesday and I was invited out with her and some of her friends. It was lovely to chat with other mummy's and have a little drink.

8. Snapchat! I have just got onto the snapchat band wagon and love it! Obsessed even.

What Made Me Happy This Week #6

This week has been a big one for us as we finally moved house!! After 7 months of waiting and in my mind EVERYTHING going wrong, we finally for the keys and have made it into our new home. And to say I am happy is an understatement, so this week is all about the happy and the smiles!

1. Moving house. This had to be number one and it was so worth the wait!

2. Walking to preschool. Since January we have been driving to and from preschool in our new home town which has been a pain to say the least. But this week we have been able to have a little bit of a leisurely morning and then stroll out the door and up the road.

3. Flowers. We are very lucky to have such fantastic friends who have brightened up our house with flowers when they have gone to visit. They have also filled our bellies with cake and biscuits.

4. Running. Living where we do now means that the runs are beautiful. We are surrounded by the countryside and magnificent rivers so my runs have been really enjoyable.

5. Watching the boys love all the space. Our new house has a little more space than our old one, with bigger bedrooms for the boys and three floors. The boys have loved having all the space to run around and have found a new game of coming down the stairs in their tunnel!

6. Friends and family. Being where we are now we are surrounded by friends and family. Already in the past week we have had friends over for dinner & drinks, I have had my Nan over for the day and the boys have had their friends over to play. All of this just makes me so happy!

7. A visit to the park. Another huge benefit of where we are now are the parks and on Sunday morning we went with some friends to investigate one just up the road and the boys loved it.
