Finding The Balance

I've been a little bit quiet on social media and new blog posts recently that weren't scheduled before the move as everything seems to be none stop. And in all honestly I am just trying to find a balance between being mummy, house wife, working from home and blogging. The boys will always come first above everything else and that's what has happened. I've been taking time to settle them into our new house as well as a new routine.

It gets to the evening when I want to blog but my enthusiasm for it has just gone and I'm so tired that I am happy to just sit in front of the tv. New post ideas just aren't there even though so much has happened the past few weeks. I have been spending all our free time exploring parks and just having fun that once the boys are in bed I am pretty exhausted.

We didn't get our first place school last Monday so I am putting all my energy into finding out how and the best way to appeal now we are in the new house, a stones throw away from the school we didn't get offered.

It's a new house and we are playing catch up on chores and still finding the place for everything. We have a garage full that needs to be sorted but our spare time has been spent catching up with friend & family and having days out to either find house stuff or fun for the boys. But in my mind that garage can wait but the boys growing up won't.

The balance will come I am sure, but for the moment while I find it I'm going to have to put blogging in the background and just let it tick along before I dive into it again. So that is where I am and I hope to be back fully into blogging soon.

  1. I'm new to blogging and struggle often to find balance. Don't blame you for taking a break or stepping back, family first, afterall they are what drive us to love and to write! #bestandworst

  2. I know how you feel! It's hard balancing everything without feeling guilty for spending too much time blogging and on social media. I touched on this in my post this week. #justanotherlinky

  7. Take your time honey. There is no rush and those of us who love to read your blog will happily wait. It's always best to wait to write until you're feeling inspired and not doing it half heartedly. Enjoy getting used to your new house and don't put any pressure on yourself xx #justanotherlinky

  8. We all get this need to find that balance, I just don't know how to solve it, but family comes first. We moved last year and it's crazy, but we still have boxes, our study is full of them, but like you our priority is H and spending time with her. With blogging I've found the same, then inspiration hits and you will write 3 posts in one night

  9. I can really understand how you feel Kirsty. The great thing about blogging is that it's flexible and we'll all be here waiting to read as and when you're feeling more inspired. For now enjoy the family time and your new new home xx

  11. I definitely feel this way from time to time too. Blogging takes up a lot of time, and sometimes it's hard to fit everything in, not to mention the fact that creativity ebbs and flows. I quite often have days during the week when I just feel utterly despondent about blogging, my stats are non-existent, I have no ideas and after working all day I get home, get Piglet to bed and then just fall asleep. You are definitely not alone! Enjoy spending time with the boys and the blog will still be there when inspiration strikes. #justanotherlinky

  12. Finding balance is definitely a struggle, but I am sure that the balance and inspiration will return. There are just some seasons in life where certain things have to take a backseat for the sake of sanity and happiness. #justanotherlinky

  13. I've noticed that, throughout these last 9 months I've been blogging, the enthusiasm comes in waves. I think you're doing wonderfully, and I think it's super important not to put tons and tons of emphasis and weight on the blog. When I do, I get burnt out fast, and feel like I want nothing to do with the blog.
I know finding your new normal after a move is a struggle. And I'm sure everyone understands your backing off the blog for a bit. #justanotherlinky

  14. This is exactly how I feel at the moment, it's so tricky finding a balance but also at the moment I'm struggling with motivation too so just kind of writing when it comes to me! Just chill and enjoy your bloggy break :) Thanks for linking up #bestandworst

  15. We can relate to this, finding it extremely hard to get the balance right atm. We're too busy out having fun to be stuck at a screen blogging, so everything we type is late at night.....must.get.some.sleep.... #JustAnotherLinky xx

  16. Sometimes it feels very all or nothing. I am either totally in to writing/blogging, or just over it. Sorry you missed your school; has probably knocked you around. Hope it all works out. #justanotherlinky

  17. Ive often wondered how bloggers find the time to document so much of their lives! Balance is the key to anything in life, too much of one thing is not good.
Regards the school, appeals are hard if the class is oversubscribed. That said you can go on a waiting list and as you say 'your a stones throw' away now, youll be high up the list so when a place comes up youll be offered it.
Im new to your blog found the #justanotherlinky on another blog and landed here :)

  20. I meant to link up this morning but I had a football team to coach at a tournament. I could have just about got the blog bit done but I stopped and took a moment to consider what was more important - you're so right - it's too easy to get wrapped up in blogging and keeping on top of all that, neglecting what's really important. Enjoyed reading this post and I sympathise completely! #justanotherlinky

  21. Hi Kirsty, you have so much going on that you can't be blamed for not having much time or energy for blogging. If I'm tired I can never blog at night, I find I can get twice as much done in an hour in the morning (before anyone is up) than an hour at night.

Hope you manage to appeal the schools decision, a school on the doorstep sounds so much handier.

    xx

  22. Exactly what happens to me. I have good intentions of getting everything done but I'm lucky if I get one thing off my list so trying to blog when I'm stuck under a couple of sleeping babies else I'll never write again! :D #justanotherlinky

  23. I've been struggling with feeling overwhelmed by blogging and writing posts lately. We're trying to organise a move currently, so probably not going to get any better! Hope things get sorted with school. #justanotherlinky
